Oh kia ora koutou! It HAS been a while. 🌱
So what’s been happening since our last post in 2020?
Well – James, Fe and Gus moved to Kaiwaka and added to their family with Peaches the Swedish Vallhund. Martin started and finished a bachelor’s degree in audio production, and has already been recording and mixing like a demon. And while shows might have been fewer than usual, we’ve still managed to tick off a few things on our bucket list – playing The Others Way, supporting Die! Die! Die! , and opening for none other than James’s heroes, JUNE OF 44. 🦇🦇
Behind the scenes (and amidst the life changes, chaos and ongoing shitstorm that is the 2020s), we’ve also been quietly working away on some (not-so-quiet) new material… and are finally ready to reveal our first new single in three years.
Recorded with Ciara Bernstein at The Vault (RIP), “Map, Territory” is an ode to what many of us have gone through in the last three years, with lyrics that reflect a feeling of impending dread and anxiousness and a driving and repetitive bass and drums which add to the relentless sense of unease.
We’re also SUPER excited to have successfully applied for NZ On Air funding – so watch this space…
